De La Rocha has been working on and off on the as-yet-untitled project since first leaving the band in 2000.

A source close to the recordings calls the music on the upcoming album a cross-pollination of Led Zeppelin and Dr. Dre, with De La Rocha playing keyboards.

A portion of the recording took place recently at Jack Johnson\'s new eco-friendly studio in Los Angeles. De La Rocha is understood to be unsigned and mulling offers for how to best distribute the album.

The song De La Rocha recorded with Trent Reznor, We Want It All, appears on the 2004 compilation \'Songs and Artists that Inspired Fahrenheit 9/11.\' Previously Roots drummer ?uestlove called De La Rocha\'s solo album \"dangerous\":

Rage Against The Machine reunited in late April to co-headline the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival and has played a handful of gigs since. Recently the band confirmed that they will be headlining Australian Big Day Out Festival 2008.
