Premieres The ZXZW week program contains some premieres. At Scryption, a museum for written communication, you can visit the first ever exposition of underground punk and hardcore fanzines. Another premier: a series of classical music concerts in a squat is going to take place and the squatting/free tek collective Wirwar will organise a Tekno party at the City Theatre of Tilburg.
Consultant in residence Film is also new within the profile of ZXZW. Mark Webber, guitar player from the pop band Pulp as well as his work as a curator for the Tate modern museum in London, has selected a series of films In which electronics, tape music, noise, primitive sampling and musique concrete come together in chaos or harmony to accompany astounding visual constructions.
Mark Hosler will be the first consultant in residence in the history of ZXZW. Hosler is well-known as a member of the experimental music and sound collage band Negativland. Negativland is infamous because of their copyright law battle with million selling band U2. They also developed a Creative Commons license. Hosler will attend the festival critically, is going to give a keynote speech about the history of his band and his latest film ‘Our Favourite Things’ has its world premier at ZXZW.
Music Although many acts will be added to the festival\'s billing soon, diverse acts such as Transmission0, The Locust, The Setup, and Charlie*Adler are among the bands already confirmed.
