\"I love Tool. They\'re one of the only bands that\'s been able to be a gigantic rock band selling millions of records [while keeping] their integrity 100 percent.\"
Dailor says as a musician, he\'s found himself inspired by the faceless motif Dnaye Carey and the rest of Tool have created over the years:
\"Right from the get-go they were able to call the shots. Label people will tell you, you have to be in the video, you have to do interviews, you have to be in the press. They kind of dropped out of that whole thing and created this whole mystique. Nobody knew what they looked like for 10 years.\"
Though inspired, the Mastodon sticksman and his band mates were happy to buck the Tool trend for at least one appearance. Thanks to a top slot on the Billboard Hard Rock chart and the quick shifting of their latest album \"Blood Mountain\", Mastodon bagged their first-ever late-night TV slot, playing Conan O\'Brien earlier this month.
