After a three-year hiatus, acclaimed San Francisco Bay Area metallers Skinlab rehearsed for the first time last week. According to a statement by bassist/vocalist Steev Esquivel, the group have already plans for a new album.\"We\'re basically gonna writing a shitload of material and see what happens. There\'s like five song ideas so far that are pretty badass — just super-heavy stuff. There will be another Skinlab record. [Guitarist] Snake and I will be busy with Re:Ignition for the cycle of our debut album, which means Skinlab will trailing shortly behind in late 2007 sometime.\"
Skinlab\'s last studio album, \"ReVolting Room\", was issued in 2002. A double-disc set, entitled \"Nerve Damage\", featuring alternate versions of studio tracks, several live tracks recorded on the band\'s \"ReVolting Room\" tour, plus two new songs, was released in 2004.
In related news: Re:Ignition, the band featuring Mark Hernandez on drums, have posted its new single, \"Head On\", on their MySpace page. The track comes off the group\'s debut album, \"Empty Heart Loaded Gun\", due later in 2006 via Corporate Punishment Records.
