Sunday evening, August 6 around 9.45 pm during the closing concert of Zuco 103 at the Boat Parade in Utrecht ancient stairs broke off and fell on the crowd and boats beneath. Eight people became heavily injured. At the moment of writing, three of them are still in critical condition. After midnight ambulances were still transporting people to different hospitals in the centre city of The Netherlands.\"Suddenly I saw a reflecting white line that wasn\'t there before. The light on stage is so bright, you can\'t see what\'s happening in the back. When I realized it was a serious thing I stopped the band immediatly.\"
You could find Lilian amongst the wounded very short after the accident:
\"The only thing you can do is give the people support. It\'s the least you can do at such a time.\"
When the audience realized the impact of the accident as well they left the scene quick but easily. There was no panic amongst the people at all. Giving the police, the fire departement and ambulance cars enough space to do their jobs. Some people fell in the water. Reason for the divers of the fire departement to check for drowned persons. No people were reported missing.
The members of the band were devastaded after a good start with the concert. The city was closed down at strategical point for the police and other services. Of course the police will start an investigating trying to find out how this drama could happen.
