Austrian power metallers Stygma IV have decided to call it a day due to severe back problems of their long-time sticksman and co-founding member Herb Greisberger (photo).\"Our drummer Herb [Greisberger] has too big problems with his back and is now in the hospital waiting for an operation. We were looking forward to the show in Cologne on Saturday, but we have to cancel this show because of the circumstances. We\'ve been together now for 11 years in the same constellation and find no reason to continue our career with a new drummer. (...)Music is the biggest part in our lives, and all of you have been part of our lives, too!\"
In 1990 Herb Greisberger, Günter Maier and Alex Hilzensauer founded a band whose musical spectrum ranged from blues and rock\'n\'roll to complex instrumental songs. In the following two years the band strove to find an adequate and suitable singer. In the meantime they released an album with the title \"Scenes Of Fire\" under the name Big Heat.
In 1996 the band renamed itself to Stigmata, producing a demo with the same title. The CD \"Solum Mente Infirmis\" was recorded in the same year opening the way to a label for the quartet.
Stygma IV released their fifth and letest regular studioalbum \"Hell Within\" Europeanwide in 2004.
