The band, featuring Stephen van Haestregt on drums, received the prestigious award on the basis of their success all over Europe.
The World Music Award is another milestone in the bands international career. In 2005 Within Temptation already received numerous industry awards at home such as the Edison Award (Best National Group), TMF Award (Best National Rock Band) and the Dutch Music Export Award.
Currently they are nominated for the Belgian TMF Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards (early November in Lisbon, Portugal) as well.
