Drummer Henk \"De Tank\" Bosma (photo) and the rest of the band recently finished the recordings for their upcoming album \"Welcome To Metalland\". The release will come out in September.

On their web site the musicians state:

\"We found some very special tracks which we will use as bonus tracks on the album to celebrate our 25th Anniversary! One song called Rock Dreams is the first song Martjo [Brongers, guitars] and Jurjen [Tichelaar, vocals] ever recorded together on July 16 & 17, 1983. We also can tell you we will put one of our demo\'s on the album as bonustrack, we also found in good condition in the studio on a 4-track tape.\"

Prior to the release in September Drummerszone now presents an exclusive preview of two new songs on the upcoming album: Endlessly, the fastest song on this release, and title track Welcome To Metalland.

The heavy metal band Vortex, was founded in Groningen (Holland) in 1979. The band lasted for eleven years. During those years they produced five demo tapes and included songs on two compilation albums: \"Heavy Metal Holland - Part II\" (1982) and \"Dutch Steel\" (1984). They also released two full albums: Metal Bats (1985) and Open The Gate (1986). There was even video clip for second\'s album title track, and has been played on MTV and Sky Channel back then.

Vortex folded in 1990, but were never forgotten. Two reunion concerts in 1992 were smashing successes. The fans refused to accept them as a farewell. In April 1998 \"The Dawning\", an album with re-recorded highlights, was released. The Metal Gates had been reopened and Vortex has been touring and recording again ever since.
