\"Complicated has so much meaning. Every time I play it, I\'m thinking about the video. And it\'s so special to me because it\'s my first song. I get happy when I play that song. I was quoted as saying I hated playing it, and that was overplayed. I shouldn\'t have said it. When I play it during the concert, it\'s the song where every single person sitting is standing up, everyone is singing. Of course, it\'s one of the coolest moments of the show, and it\'s so much fun for me.\"
After touring intensively to promote her best-selling CDs \"Let Go\" (2002) and \"Under My Skin\" (2004), the Canadian singer decided to make things more, eh, complicated. She wanted to do more than sing and play guitar, so she is playing drums as well!
As a child, Avril\'s parents gave her a set of drums, and she ran with it. She never took lessons but just figured it out by herself. Lavigne says:
\"Now is the time for me to do some of the things I want to do onstage. I wanted to get up and do some of that stuff before but just didn\'t. I\'m glad I\'m challenging myself now. I wanted to do that on my first tour, bring out a little drum kit, but it never worked it out. So, I\'m finally doing it now on a cover song.\"
If Avril\'s really getting into it, her regular drummer Matthew Brann might even look for another job...
