A team of 35 British drummers have played their hearts out for 70 hours in a world record attempt at the Roger Taylor Zildjian Studio, part of the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford, Surrey.
Starting on Wednesday 10th July and finishing on Saturday 13th July, the Drummathon has raised money for The British Dental Health Foundation, Heart Your Smile and Bridge2Aid.
Simultaneously the participating drummers smashed the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Drumming by a Team, although this new record is yet to be officially confirmed by Guinness.
The team of 35 sticksmen, including Mike Dolbear, Craig Blundell and Pete Riley, took the kit for two hours each as they look to smash the current record of 66 hour. The marker was set by Nexus Music in Coventry back in 2009.
Supporting the event were Zildjian and Vic Firth, who both supplied gear for the event.
