Steve Gadd about Gadditude
Welcome Pledgers!
I’ve been lucky to be a part of some amazing recordings and performances with extraordinary artists like Paul Simon, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Steely Dan, Chick Corea, Stevie Wonder, and many more during the course of my career.
While I love that time on the road with those guys, playing live and in the studio, I also love producing and making my own music. I’ve recorded a few of my own albums over the years, but for this new record I wanted to create something entirely new and different. It was important to me that these songs had good feel and a solid groove. This is my first studio recording as a leader in over 25 years and I’m really excited about it. So, I gathered together some of the best guys I know - Larry Goldings, Jimmy Johnson, Walt Fowler, and Michael Landau to create...Steve Gadd Band.
I’d like to invite you to be a part of the process of putting out our first record as Steve Gadd Band, Gadditude.
Here at PledgeMusic, you’ll be able to watch it all happen, step-by-step, in real time. We’ll have behind-the-scenes clips from the recording sessions, exclusive videos that feature early versions of the tunes, and a rare chance to see what it’s like to be in the studio with us, day by day, as our new album takes shape.
Pledging will open the door to get exclusive signed CDs and merchandise + a digital MP3 album download of Gadditude one week before it’s available everywhere.
And not only will you be helping us put this new record out, but a significant portion of your pledge will go to an incredible organization that I care about deeply, called MusiCares, who provides assistance for music industry people in great times of need.
Thank you for your years of support and being a very special part of Gadditude!
And his bandleader James Taylor about 'Gadditude'
"The happiest result of my moderate success is and has been the company of these, my musical brothers. To have them play my music is a great joy and an honor, no lie, and I thank my lucky stars. Now I've finally taken a year off to write; which is overdue, but frankly, I worry.
Kim rides me mercilessly when I carry on like an aging hipster, but it's true: Cats must gig....will some other headliner boost my band? Will somebody slip his mooring and drift away with the tide?
How perfect, then, that they have chosen this time to play their own collaborations and put down this excellent side. Gadditude is consensus co-arrangement, as only true masters of the art can achieve it. So they stay tight, and loose, and they endure. Now I worry will they find another lead singer?
Everyday I have the blues..."
