This year Indoor Percussion Europe (IPE) debuts with the Individuals & Ensembles (I&E) competition during the IPE European Championships in Tournai, Belgium on Sunday April 8, 2012.
Besides the Indoor Percussion Championships in the afternoon, members and ensembles can compete in the European I&E Competition for Percussion.
The categories are Individual Percussion (snare drum, multiple tenor drum, percussion keyboard, timpani, multiple percussion) and Ensembles (bass drum ensemble, cymbal ensemble and percussion ensemble).
Registration deadline is March 1st so you better register right away if you want to enter the competition.
Indoor Percussion event at Burgess Hill, UK cancelled In related news about IPE: the Indoor Percussion Europe (IPE)/Winterguard United Kingdom (WGUK) Indoor Percussion event, set to take place on Sunday, March 18 in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, has been cancelled due to the low number of entrants.
The normal WGUK Winterguard contest taking place on the same day will continue as normal with 21 guards in competition.
The WGUK 2012 British Indoor Percussion Championships (which was scheduled to be part of the Burgess Hill event) will now move forward one week and will take place on Sunday 25th March as part of the Winterguard contest being held at the Pond Forge Arena in Sheffield.
