Chris Troy, owner and drum builder of Supernova Custom Drums, has come up with the ‘Supernova Custom Drums Snare World Tour’, a special facebook promotion action that's offering drummers a chance to try out a custom made snare drum in their own homes, rehearsal rooms or at gigs.
Each person will have 7 days to play the snare before it gets sent on to another drummer. The Snare World Tour will all be coordinated on facebook.
A map of where the Snare Drum has travelled to can be found on supernovadrums.com. All of the rules/terms and conditions can be seen on both the website and the facebook page.
Once 1,000 people have joined the Snare World Tour Facebook page, the snare will be unleashed. The promotion goes live at 12pm GMT on December 24, 2011. Here's a video of Supernova's original promotion action:
