Percussion Plus has been manufacturing and distributing percussion instruments for over two decades. Though specialising in tuned and educational percussion, the company intruduced Sonix in 2009, launching a rock and a fusion set, based on dealer feedback of what they would like to see in an entry level kit and the spec designed around their recommendations.
The firm is keen to promote the Sonix drum line separately from its Percussion Plus products.
Sonix Rock and Fusion drum kits were launched three years ago, based on dealer feedback of what they would like to see in an entry level kit and the spec designed around their recommendations.
Last year saw the introduction of the 922 Birch kit and a full range of hardware, which retails for £519 (less than $840 USD or €590 euros).
The range was further added to with the launch of a line of Taiko drums which have recently been promoted by Kagamusha Taiko of Exeter, organiser of the annual UK Taiko festival, which has championed the range and included the Sonix drums in many performances throughout the three-day event.
The Sonix Cajon is made at the Percussion Plus UK factory in Market Harborough with a retail price of only £89 (around $140 or €100). Sonix accessories include padded drum bags with 10mm padding, handles and zips.
