Kim Thompson
Coveted drummer Kim Thompson was born in Los Angeles, CA and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in 2003 with a Bachelors Degree in Jazz Performance and Composition.

In December 2001, while still in school, multi-Grammy nominee Kenny Barron asked her to join him and Rufus Reid to perform at the Havana Jazz Festival in Cuba hosted by Chucho Valdez.

Since, Thompson has performed globally as well as in many NYC jazz clubs from the Stellar Blue Note, her main stomping ground The 55 Bar, to Sweet Rhythms where she just recently showcased her quintet with Wallace Roney, Tim Warfield, Mike Stern, Mulgrew Miller, and Tarus Mateen. She has been with Beyonce for the last four years and continues to play with her, as well as with her own band. Marco Socolli, Evans’ Director of Artist Relations, comments:

Carmine Appice
Currently an independent American rock drummer, Carmine Appice has made a great name for himself over the years. With a background in classical music, he was conversely influenced by the jazz drumming of Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa early on. Appice is best known for his associations with Vanilla Fudge, Cactus, and the power trio Beck, Bogert & Appice. He’s also been credited for co-writing some hits with Rod Steward and also working with Ozzy Osbourne and Blue Murder.

Known for his showmanship, stick tosses and twirls, he is widely considered one of the most accomplished showmen in rock and was the first rock drummer to organize drum clinics at college campuses, theatres, and drum stores. He is credited with influencing drummers such as John Bonham, Bill Ward, Dave Lombardo, Joey Kramer, Phil Collins, Neil Peart, Tommy Lee, and Eric Singer. Marco Soccoli on behalf of Evans:

Vinny Appice
He has anchored the rhythm and power both live and in-studio for the music of Dio, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, WWIII, Axis, Rick Derringer, John Lennon and more. As the younger brother of Carmen Appice, Vinny Appice built his musical career himself. Aside from touring for about two decades, Vinny Appice has recorded and co-written songs on over 25 albums and cds, many of which are multi-platinum records.

Vinny's drumming can also be heard on numerous movie soundtracks including Wayne’s World 2, Heavy Metal, Iron Eagle and Bedazzled. He is the author of the popular drum instruction book 'Rock Steady' and dvd 'Hard Rock Drumming Techniques', and has performed incredible powerhouse drum clinics around the globe.

Mark Schulman
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Mark Schulman has parlayed his childhood desire to play music into a major career. Having begun as a cellist in his teens and had played for the L.A. junior Philharmonic, Schulman is now a first-call drummer for world-class rock, pop and jazz artists including Stevie Nicks, Destiny’s Child, Cher, and Billy Idol. Most recently, Schulman has been the beatmaster for P!nk.

As the recipient of numerous Gold and Platinum discs, he has appeared on several television shows including David Letterman, The Tonight Show, American Idol, and more. As an active educator, Schulman taught at the Los Angeles Music Academy, and as one of the world’s most sought after drum clinicians, he is proud to host clinics in countries around the world.
