Taking its name from a helmet worn by samurai warriors with traditional Japanese armor, Yamaha\'s Kabuto snare drum consists of:

14”x5.5” steel shell
The steel shell of the Kabuto snare drum has a bright tone that cuts through loud music, and great sensitivity to respond to the lightest touch.

Baked-on finish
The baked on “Tomato Soup” finish gives this snare drum a look that catches your eye. This finish warms up the tone of the drum to give it body and depth, making this a versatile drum that works for any musical style.

1.8mm snare bed
The Kabuto’s snare bed is the optimum depth for maximum sensitivity and a wide range of snare tension settings. You can tighten them for a bright, crisp sound or play them loose for a wet, funky sound.

1.6mm 8-lug hoops
The hoops are rigid enough for accurate tuning; yet light enough to let the drum’s tone open up. The eight lug design means there is less metal on the shell, further allowing the shell to vibrate for resonance and a wide dynamic response.

On or about July 3, 2007 one winner will be chosen by random drawing from all eligible entries received by Yamaha. The winner will be notified by email, to the email address given on the entry form, within 24 hours of drawing, and the winner must respond to Yamaha’s email notification within 7 calendar days or prize winner will be disqualified.
