Bethlehem, Palestine is one of the most historical cities in the world and a place that many would not immediately associate with a flourishing pipe band music scene. However, The Scottish Center has established itself as a thriving musical instrument retailer, supplying Premier pipe band and marching drums plus RG Hardie bagpipes.
The Scottish Center is run by Elias Danho who ran the Israel Bagpipe Center in Jerusalem for 14 years and began working with Premier in 2005. Elias teamed up with Richard Hanania during this time to supply bagpipe bands in Palestine following the demand for Premier drums and RG Hardie bagpipes in this area.
Free drumming and bagpipe tuition With the support and backing of Premier Percussion, The Scottish Center opened in December 2006 with help from Elias’s cousin Pipe Major Josheph Danho and other colleagues Adham Hazboun, Mona Hanania and Amera Danho. The Scottish Center continues to work closely with pipe bands across Palestine and is currently offering free drumming and bagpipe tuition in order to help the local bands progress.
Premier is also pleased to announce that the Terra Sancta Pipe Band from Bethlehem has chosen to use Premier HTS 700 snare drums and Hosbilt Tenor and Bass drums for its drum corps. The Terra Sancta Pipe Band was founded in 1932 and represents over 75 years of traditional pipe band music within the region.
