Katsugi Okedo Daiko
The design of Taiko-1 is based on the katsugi okedo daiko, like the ones we know from Remo; a taiko drum carried with a sling over the shoulder. But that is where the analogy stops. Roland's history in electronics and V-Drums makes it clear why they are the first that could produce this instrument.

The specs are looking quite the same as the modules for several of the V-Drums series: the specific sound collection is already huge and of course you can import your own WAV sounds via USB. The mesh heads have the dual-zone trigger technology and positional sensing for a wide tonal range.

Ji-Uchi
To make it even better and really focused on taiko players, there are ji-uchi backing patterns available for practice and performance accompaniment. Ji-uchi are, let's say, the rudiments of taiko, the fundamentals that also support the rhythmic precision within the ensemble.
With that, there is also a built-in Bluetooth to stream music or lessons from a smartphone or tablet.

Professional taiko performers face challenges as well, as the drums are hard to carry, costly to ship, and difficult to amplify in some venues.
