The computer assisted design and manufacture (CAD/CAM), precision laser-engraved handle is said to be less abrasive than a conventional, knurled finish yet safer and more reliable than grip tapes and dips.

According to Diamondback Drumsticks, the proprietary process does not affect the stick's weight or balance.
