The patent pending Switch Kick is said to be the world's first quick release bass drum beater: a way to quickly switch out your beater with one hand and no tools.

It also allows you to use other percussion instruments on your bass drum to add textures and dynamics.

The floating tube is made from solid billet aluminum machined to exact specifications and precise tolerances. The adapter shaft, the workhorse of the system, is made from high strength tempered stainless steel.

The company's founder and CEO is Kevin Smith, a professional drummer, educator, designer and former drum shop owner. He hopes the Kickstarter campaign will help him launch the full-scale manufacturing and fulfillment of Switch Kick. His project will only be funded if at least $10,000 is pledged by Monday, Jan 19 2015.
