Meinl Percussion introduces the new radial ply construction (RAPC) bongos. Meinl's new construction was adopted from traditional drum-set shell building techniques and features five layers of plywood that create super strong but lightweight bongo shells with enhanced resonance.
Coupled with Meinl's patented Free Ride system that allows the bongo to be joined with no holes drilled in the shells, the result is an instrument with a truly traditional bongo sound that features very modern and serious innovations.
The new Meinl RAPC bongos are available as 6 3/4 inch Macho and 8 inch Hembra. They come with true skin cow heads, 8 mm strong tuning lugs and 2.5 mm rouned SSR-Rims. And an accessory pouch with an L-shaped tuning key and tune up oil is included.
Available high gloss finishes for the RAPC bongos include Black Maple Burst, Bubinga, Cherry and Ebony Black. They're also available with a Desert Burl matte finish.
