UK-based Shaw Sticks has announced a new range of Classic English wood-tip drumsticks. The new sticks have been designed following a complete re-tooling at Shaw, bringing them even closer to the original UK production sizes from the 1960s.
The new models come in E, C, C Plus, 5A, 5B and Super Soul styles and are made of 100 per cent US hickory.
The C and C Plus sticks are very widely used by traditionally-minded players looking for a vintage style and feel. The company worked closely with Shaw users, including Ian Mosley from Marillion and Don Powell from Slade, to get the designs right.
The E sticks are very light and follow a surprise increase in demand, which has been growing rapidly over the past 12 months. The company revealed it is not offering nylon-tipped versions of the traditional styles at present, due to an apparent continuing fall in demand from players for nylon-tipped sticks.
Shaw Classic English sticks are priced at £9.98 per pair.
