"For all you to know, this is Scott's girlfriend of over 3 1/3 years... and I cannot get the words out, but he died today. Please send your thoughts and prayers. I can't believe he is gone. He was the absolute love of my life."
Scott Columbus joined Manowar in 1983, and played with the band on many of their well-known and now classic albums such as 'Kings of Metal' and 'Louder than Hell'.
In 1984 Scott and his fellow band members were included in the Guinness Book of World Records for delivering the loudest performance, a record which they have since broken on two occasions.
Scott left the band around April 2008 when he and the band's bassist/leader, Joey DeMaio, "agreed to disagree on a few points of interest" and parted ways in an amiable way.
More recently Scott Columbus had been working on a solo project called Instrumental. The drummer had been keeping in contact with his former manowar bandmates and there were indications that some of them would be collaborating and contributing to specific tracks on his solo project.
