The film, featuring unseen footage of the openly lesbian rocker during the grunge era, currently needs approximately $15,000 to complete the project by a deadline of March 6.

A pledge bar on the documentary's official site pattydoc.com shows that approximately 80 percent of the funds have been pledged.

Patty Schemel (43) approached co-producer Christina Soletti and director P. David Ebersole back in 2007 with roughly 40 hours of archival footage that she shot while she was on tour with Hole in the '90s. The footage was on videotape but the drummer was worried the Hi8 tapes would soon disintegrate. Soon, they were transferring the tapes and watching the footage together and the seed of the documentary was born.

Included in a video to drum up support for the project are interviews with Patty Schemel, her family, Courtney Love, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Eric Erlandson, Love, Veruca Salt's Nina Gordon and Luscious Jackson drummer Kate Schellenbach:

Patty Schemel joined Hole in 1992 and played on 1994's 'Live Through This' but left the band during the sessions for 'Celebrity Skin' before the album was completed. Reasons for the departure were disputed by both sides. The drummer has since worked with Juliette Lewis and performed on Love's solo album 'America's Sweetheart.'
