Born in Much Wenlock, Shropshire in 1940 jazz drummer Tony Levin started his carreer with playing at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in the 1960s.

During the 1960s and '70s Tony Levin worked with numerous groups and artists.

From 1980, Tony Levin worked extensively with saxophonist Paul Dunmall, including as part of Quartet Mujician. In 1994, the jazz drummer released his solo album 'Spiritual Empathy', again featuring Paul Dunmall on saxophones.

Tony later recorded with the saxophonist with his son Miles Levin on drums.

Tony Levin ran his own monthly club in Birmingham, and often performed duets with Paul Dunmall and guest musicians as well as producing records for his label Rare Music.
