Alex Kirst, the former drummer for The Nymphs and Iggy Pop, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Cathedral City, California on January 13th. He was only 47 years old.

Alex Kirst was spotted lying along the side of Date Palm Drive just north of the entrance to Date Palm Country Club about 11:45 pm.
According to the police, there was no evidence of any braking, the driver made no attempt to stop and fled the scene.
Police don't have a description of the driver or car, but say the car will have front end-damage and missing headlights.
Alex Kirst launched his career as a professional drummer in the late 1980s and early '90s with alternative rock band The Nymphs, known for its wild shows.
