The drummer spent several days in the hospital and has just been released.

BORG founded and now promotes Dads against Meth Use, a cause the members say seemed to rile up the suspect. After the show the band members were packing up their instruments and hanging out in their van, which prominently displays their anti-meth message in pain.

Suddenly an agitated man wandered up from the Motel 6 nearby, then tossed a softball-sized rock through the open window, according to the local police report. Guys from the band went out to confront him, leading him to mock the band\'s anti-meth stance.

The disagreement escalated, with Jon Landato trying to hold back his friends, when the alleged stabber, Darrell Robertson of Mesa, pulled out a knife and made a slashing motion hitting the drummer, police say. Jon Landato:

\"I was coughing up cup-fulls of blood. I seriously thought I was gonna die. My vision kept going in and out.\"

The suspect is currently being held at the Fourth Avenue jail and faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon. The BORG members state:

\"We are just out spreading the word of sobriety. Our message is a positive one, we want a drug free future for the next generation, we preach educate, not incarceration, we want kids and their parents to know the dangers of chemical dependant drugs. This is a perfect example as why we need to get drugs off the streets and away from our kids.\"
