The new group, which claims to combine kraut rock with modern electronic elements, is going by the name Cologne Tape. Rounding out the band are singer-producer Ada, Jörg Burger, Jens-Uwe Beyer (aka Popnoname), John Harten, Daniel Ansorge, and Philipp Janzen (Von Spar) - all German musicians.
Their debut ep, \'Render\', will be available June 14 via new Kompakt imprint Magazine. It\'s a limited edition deal, as only 300 vinyl copies and 1000 downloads will be available.
This is a practice that the new label is applying to all of its future releases, which include an album by Field alter-ego Loops Of Your Heart.
In related news: John Stanier and his fellow Battles members have confirmed that they plan to release the follow-up to their critically-lauded 2007 debut album \'Mirrored\' later this year.
The New York band have started work on the album in their home city and are set to head to the Machines With Magnets studio in Pawtucket for proper studio sessions soon.
