The musician, who was 34, became stuck during a fundraising party at a Williamsburg loft in New York on Saturdaynight.

According to sources at the party, Jerry Fuchs and a friend had attempted to leap over a gap between an elevator and the building\'s fifth floor after a malfunction.

Jerry\'s friend jumped off to safety, but when Jerry Fuchs followed his clothing became stuck and the drummer fell down the shaft, plunging to his death.

Jerry Fuchs was pronounced dead at 3:30 am after being taken to Bellevue Hospital.

He is survived by his parents, an older sister, a younger brother and sister along with nephews and nieces.

Jerry drummed with dance-punkband !!! and psychedelic instrumental band Maserati, among others. he had just returned from a tour with Maserati and the Japanese band Mono.
