The drummer performed on many hit songs in the 1960s, recording for such acts as The Kinks, The Animals, Tom Jones and Dusty Springfield.
It is said that The Beatles manager Brian Epstein asked Bobby Graham after it was decided to remove Pete Best as the group\'s drummer.
Bobby claimed that he turned Epstein down as he was then the drummer for a much more successful band, Joe Brown and The Bruvvers, and so Ringo Starr became the band\'s new drummer.
Bobby Graham died at the Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City on September 14, after a four month battle with stomach cancer. He is survived by his wife, Belinda, his son, Shawn, and his younger brother, Ian.
