Sean Reinert, drummer of reunited group Cynic, recently entered a California studio with producer Warren Riker (Down, Santana) to record the band\'s new album. Says Sean:\"We are currently finishing up mixing the last two songs for the new Cynic album with Warren Riker and could not be happier. It is really sounding amazing. I\'m loving my drum sound!\"
Cynic\'s new cd will contain eight songs. The album is set for a late 2008 release via Season of Mist Records.
Although bassist Sean Malone had been busy as a teacher, he renewed his ties with Sean Reinert and guitarist Paul Masvidal after he heard the group\'s new demo material. Rounding out the group\'s current lineup is Tymon Kruidenier, a talented guitarist out of the Netherlands who will also handle the aggressive vocals.
