The instructional DVD \'Cuban Rumba\' of Javier Campos Martinez is available for ordering on Drummerszone.com. It is one of its kind, knowing that this is one of the few intructional DVD\'s solely for learning the Rumba. The DVD is produced by master percussionist Sjahin During, who released his first solo album \'Afro Anatolian Tales\' in February 2008 and was release of the month in March this year.

Javier Campos Martinez gives a masterclass explaining the essence of Rumba, the various Rumba styles, clave and kata patterns. The component percussive parts of five original Rumba styles are each presented in separate tracks for kata, tumbadora (salidor), tresdos and quinto in slow time and real time. Various combinations of the interlocking patterns are shown as well as intro- and outro breaks, and conversations between the tumbadora and the tresdos. Special attention is given to the art of solo playing on the quinto, the lead drum.
Javier Campos Martínez is one of the leading percussionists of today\'s Afro-Cuban music. He is known as an innovator and pioneer pushing the limits and boundaries of percussion. Javier grew up in Havana and is a master of Afro-Cuban roots music and a specialist on the bata drums (the Yoruba ceremonial drums).
Javier taught Afro-Cuban drumming at the \'Instituto Superior de Arte\"\' in Havana and nowadays (2004) teaches at the school of percussion \'Abanico\' in Paris. He is bandleader of Grupo Arawé and Afrekete. He performed with Tata Guines, Changuito, Pali llo, José Pilar Oba Ilú, Omar Sosa, David Murray, Martha Gallaraga, Amalia Pedrosa, Regino Yimenez, Angel Bolanio, and Pancho Quinto.
