Dutch drummer and percussionist Ruben van Rompaey has released a new instructional book: \"Method for Darbuka - volume 2\". It is issued by Belgian music publisher Digital Music Print (DMP). Volume 1 was released in 2006.

Darbuka? The goblet shaped drum is also known by the names of darbouka, doumbek and tonbak, among others.
European tour More news about Van Rompaey: he will hit the road with for a European tour with American band Solace in May and June. During their Serpent\'s Kiss Tour the musicians will visit Spain, Germany, Poland, Austria and the UK. You can find more details about the itinerary here.
Ruben van Rompaey Van Rompaey graduated from the Rotterdam Conservatory in Holland cum laude. Soon after he won the Tama Drummers Award and the Erasmus Rotterdam Jazz Award.
Nowadays Ruben is working as a teacher at the departments of Jazz and World Music of the Rotterdam Conservatory.
The drummer is sponsored by Tama drums and Turkish cymbals.
The Big Bang Earlier this year Van Rompaey was featured at percussion festival The Big Bang, along with luminaries such as Keith Carlock, Rhani Krija, Glen Velez, Selvaganesh, Suat Borazan and Keyvan Chemirani.
