A new studio album is currently being recorded for a summer release. Powermad\'s current line-up is compelted by Joel DuBay on guitar an vocals, Todd Haug on guitar and Jeff Litke on bass.
Powermad formed in 1984 in Minneapolis and released an EP on Combat Records. The band subsequently signed to Reprise Records and released \"The Madness Begins\" EP in 1988 and \"Absolute Power\" in 1989.
As previously reported, Macaluso is participating in \"Heroes Temporis\", a new rock opera with a progressive origin. Classical musician Giancarlo Trotta and prog musician Luca Contegiacomo, both from Battipaglia (Salerno) in Italy, were both fascinated by encounter of different worlds and atmospheres. Thus the idea of a rock opera was born, something that allowed the coexistence of a 100 elements symphonic orchestra and a rock band, lyrical and pop vocals, classic arias and rock rhythms.
Recently John Macaluso has been touring with Spread Eagle.
