Keith Moon \"the Loon\" was born as Keith John Moon in Londen, Wembley on August 23, 1946. Besides his energetic and extravert syle of playing, Moon was as wild offstage as on. He also earned himself a reputation for trashing hotel rooms and living large with lots of alcohol and drugs. The rocker became eventually known as the finest drum kit destroyer in history. However, his lunacy nearly overshadowed an instinctive power drumming skill that fueled the Who.
Moon died on September 7, 1978 at the age of 32 after overdosing on Heminevrin tablets, taken as part of a program to wean him off alcohol.
