Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and his wife, actress Connie Nielsen, are expecting their first child together.

The Danish-born couple, currently residing in the United States, have been dating for nearly two years. Nielsen\'s representative Joy Limanon confirms the baby is due next summer, adding, \"They are ecstatic.\"
Actress Nielsen is best known from playing the sister of evil Roman emperor Commodus in the \"Gladiator\" film (2000). She was also featured in films such as \"One Hour Photo\", \"Basic\" and \"Return to Sender\".
Nielsen has a 16-year-old son, Sebastian, from a previous marriage. Ulrich also has sons from a previous marriage: Myles, 8, and Layne, 5.
