Melbourne based drummer Rob Brens has joined Alarum as the replacement for previous skinsman Racca (Matt Racovalis), who left the band this past summer \"to pursue other interests.\"

Previously Brens played with Liminal, while studying for a music performance degree, and working in a number of bands around Melbourne including pop outfit Skarlet Blue.
Alarum is currently writing material for a new album as well as preparing for a gig supporting Testament in Melbourne at Prince Of Wales on February 7.
Earlier in 2006 Alarum completed a US tour with Necrophagist, Arsis, Neuraxis and Cattle Decapitation. The band\'s latest cd, \"Eventuality\", was released in July 2005 via Willowtip/Earache. The album was recorded through 2004 at Back Beach Studios with Theron Rennison and assistant Rick Luke.
