Do your neighbours complain you make too much noise hitting the skins and cymbals? Well, from now on you can simply point out to them that it could be a whole lot worse. Just tell them about Sydney rock band Dirty Skanks’ Col Hatchman, who officially is the world\'s loudest drummer.

Compare this: whispers are approximately 30 dB loud, city traffic noise mostly ranges from 75 to 85 dB. Pain in the ears starts when crossing 120 dB.
Manic madman and The Who drummer Keith Moon was once recorded playing at a level of 126 dB. But now Australian drummer Col Hatchman has laid claim as the new Guinness Book of Records \"World\'s Loudest Drummer\" with a massive 137.2 decibles!
Guiness representatives officially recorded Hatchman\'s ear splitting feat on Friday August 4th, 2006 at the Northern Star Hotel in Newcastle, Sydney, Australia. Col was playing with his pimp-funk infused band, Dirty Skanks. Hatchman’s reading peaked at a volume equivalent to listening to a jet plane take off from 100 feet away and is louder than a pneumatic drill! Amazing.
