The recording process for the CD is taking place at The Barn, Longford, Ireland. Entitled \"Madre, Protégenos\", the album will be released in February 2006 via Portugal\'s Equilibrium Music.
Íon is the brainchild of Duncan Patterson (photo), also known for his involvement in Antimatter and Anathema. Íon, the Gaelic word for \'pure\', is primarily a solo project but it includes several guest musicians.
In related news: Antimatter mainman/lyricist/singer Mick Moss has been working hard over the last few months on the group\'s follow-up to 2005\'s \"Planetary Confinement\".
Entitled \"Leaving Eden\", this new album is to be released in the first half of 2006 via The End Records.
Confirmed guest musicians on the CD include drummer Chris Phillips, who was also featured on \"Planetary Confinement\", and Danny Cavanagh of Anathema.
