Brooks, previously of the American band Sea Ray, was added after initial drummer and songwriter Dave Hamelin had changed his drum kit for a position as guitarist and vocalist.

After guitarist Greg Paquet got so tired of touring he took off, Dave Hamelin was free to take over on that end.

That a drummer can make such a difference, is clear when you hear The Stills\' bass player Oliver Crowe tell it. The band is entirely changed by their new sticks man:

\"Colin [Brooks] coming into the equation just made everybody feel better all of a sudden. Instead of frustration it was like, suddenly there were smiles all around the room. It was a huge relief. He’s been playing drums for 23 years. So now Dave [Hamelin] is free to play guitar and sing a song, so he’s way happier, so we’re all way happier.\"

Brooks makes his recording debut on the new album which is set for release in early 2006.
