Presented by Julien's Auctions, the sale brings together memorabilia from Collins' career between 1980 and 1995, alongside contributions from some of the biggest names in music and entertainment. The proceeds will support The King's Trust, which helps young people facing adversity develop skills and find opportunities in work and education.
Phil Collins' Live Aid outfit and Genesis lyrics
Among the main items from the Collins archive is the outfit he wore during his historic Live Aid performance at Wembley Stadium on July 13, 1985. Collins famously travelled by Concorde to Philadelphia after the London performance, becoming the only artist to perform at both Live Aid concerts on the same day. The outfit, consisting of a patterned shirt and khaki cargo pants, has an estimated value of $60,000 to $80,000.
Another highlight is a set of handwritten working lyrics for Genesis' 'That's All'. The two notebook pages show several differences from the final lyrics of the song, released in 1983 on the band's self-titled album. The estimate for the original handwritten material is $6,000 to $8,000.
The archive also includes a pinstripe suit Collins wore in the second season of 'Miami Vice', in the 1985 episode 'Phil the Shill'.

The most expensive items from the The King's Trust 50th Anniversary Benefit Auction
Drum-related memorabilia from Ringo Starr and Nick Mason
For drummers, the auction also includes several interesting contributions from fellow musicians.
Sir Ringo Starr has donated a stage-worn shirt and a pair of drumsticks, while Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason has contributed framed and signed drumheads.
These items are part of a much larger collection of memorabilia donated by artists including Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Mick Jagger, Sir Elton John, Robert Plant, Brian May, Roger Taylor, Annie Lennox, Mark Knopfler and Muse.
Other highlights include McCartney's boots worn during the 2012 Diamond Jubilee celebration, Elton John's rose-tinted glasses, a stage-worn shirt from Mick Jagger and a signed Led Zeppelin platinum award from Robert Plant.
Muse has donated a band-signed Manson MBC-1 guitar from the 'Drones World Tour' period. The band's frontman Matt Bellamy also has a personal connection to the charity: The King's Trust, formerly The Prince's Trust, helped Muse buy their first PA system when they were starting out.
“The archive includes items from many moments in my life and career, from instruments and handwritten lyrics to pieces connected with performances over the years, so it means a great deal to see them used to support The King's Trust as it celebrates its 50th anniversary.”
- Phil Collins
Four decades of support for The King's Trust
Collins has been involved with the charity for more than 40 years. He performed at the first Prince's Trust rock concert in 1982, became its first Ambassador and has supported its work through performances, mentoring and music workshops.
The auction also marks 40 years since Collins became the charity's first Ambassador. He and his wife Jill curated the archive, which brings together instruments, handwritten lyrics, clothing and other items from his career.
Online bidding opened on October 29, with the live auction scheduled for November 19, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT. Selected highlights will also be on public display at The Peninsula Beverly Hills on November 13, from 9 a.m. to noon PT.
The King's Trust has helped more than 1.5 million young people over the past 50 years. Proceeds from the auction will go towards continuing that work.
