Multi-award winning drummer, educator and bandleader Tommy Igoe makes his debut today with the Tommy Igoe Groove Conspiracy, a mighty 14-piece powerhouse that holds forth every Tuesday night at San Francisco's revered jazz nightclub Yoshi's.
The Tommy Igoe Conspiracy's self-titled debut is released on Deep Rhythm Music. This new recording captures all of the raw excitement of the group's weekly gigs and more.
The album features original conceptions of pieces by such greats as Joe Zawinul, Quincy Jones, Djavan, Joshua Redman, Arturo Sandoval and a New Orleans blowout by Snarky Puppy that highlights the band's depth and power.
Guest conspirers on the album include Randy Brecker, James Genus, Michael League, Drew Zingg, Karl Perazzo and Kenny Washington.
