Tim Mooney, drummer for Sun Kill Moon and American Music Club among others, has died. He passed away on June 13th, at age 53. The cause of Tim's death is not yet clear.
A Tim Mooney Memorial Fund has been set up via PayPal to help support his family.
In the 1970s and 1980s, Tim drummed for the Sleepers, Toiling Midgets, Negative Trend, and many other San Francisco-based bands.
Tim joined alternative rockers American Music Club around 1991. His last album with that band was 'Love Songs for Patriots' in 2004, which he also produced and engineered.
In 2000 Tim also played drums for singer/songwriter Mark Kozelek's 'Rock 'n' Roll Slinger', the first solo album by the frontman of Sun Kil Moon and Red House Painters, and Sun Kil Moon's 2003 album 'Ghosts of the Great Highway'.
