Phish drummer Jon Fishman is pretty sure about it: cowbells + ice cream equals a party. That's why he is organizing the world's largest cowbell ensemble in association with Ben & Jerry's on Church Street in downtown Burlington, Vermont, on April 14th.
Those looking to attend need to register beforehand. Registration includes a T-shirt and cowbell ($25 for adults, $12 for kids).
Phish and Ben & Jerry's have a 15-year partnership. One result is the ice cream flavor Phish Food, which features such ingredients as marshmallow goo and fudge fish.
Free scoops of Phish Food ice cream will be served from the Ben & Jerry's scoop truck for the duration of the event.
The cowbell ensemble is a fund-raiser to mark the anniversary of Phish Food. Money raised from the event will benefit the WaterWheel Foundation's Vermont Flood Recovery Fund, which looks to help Vermont communities in the aftermath of tropical storm Irene.
