With a little help from his friends, party meister and musician Andrew WK has completed his goal to set a world record for the longest ever drum session in a retail store.
Andrew had several guest drummers helping him out, including Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Nick Jonas (Jonas Brothers), "?uestlove" (The Roots, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon), Liberty DeVitto (Billy Joel), Marky Ramone (The Ramones) and Joe Bergamini (professional drum instructor with several Broadway credits including Rock of Ages, and The Lion King).
Actor Cuba Gooding, Jr. dropped by too and played cowbell for a while.
Performing as part of the O Music Awards, Andrew started his endeavor at the Oakley flagship store in Times Square on Wednesday night.
This morning he tweeted to confirm that the feat, which went for a duration of 24 hours, had been achieved, thanking his fans:
"We did it! 24 hours of drumming! Remember... I didn't do it, WE did it. You were with me every beat. I feel very emotional and party."
