Jacob Randall (20) has won the finals of the Australian Roland V-Drums Contest in Sydney. He beat six other finalists, earning the title of Australian V-Drums Champion 2011."It will be big because of the exposure it will bring at the festival. All the big manufacturers will be there."
The winning drummer also receives $1000 prize money and lessons via Skype from judge and top drummer Johnny Rabb.
Jacob's dream is to make a living out of playing music, but ideally, he would like to play for the Cirque du Soleil band or perform on a cruise ship.
But first Jacob is set to begin a three-year Bachelor of Music in jazz performance at Victoria University next year.
