Harold Lopez-Nussa was born into a Cuban musical dynasty - the nephew of famous pianist Ernan Lopez-Nussa and the son of drummer Ruy Lopez-Nussa. He is probably best known for his work with Buena Vista Social Club singer Omara Portuondo, who also had a cameo on his previous World Village album, Herencia. Today, backed by his brother on a drums, double bass player Felipe Cabrera and master saxophonist David Sanchez, Lopez-Nussa is taking a new step forward. Recorded at studios La Buissonne in November 2010, El País de las Maravillas features Lopez- Nussa asserting himself as a stylish composer and a powerful pianist, whose exciting and emotional music defies easy categorization.
