Imagine Moloko’s exuberant singer engaged in an orgy with those guys from the French ambient pop band Air. Pretty stunning image, right? It’s not the Amsterdam based trip pop band Moodak who dreamed up this vivid description of themselves, yet they were very pleased with the review of leading Dutch music magazine OOR.
Moodak’s second EP Step Into This Life, produced by Nijmegen sound wizards Mystic Machine and released October 2006, got rave reviews in magazines and on websites, such as MusicFrom.nl. Two songs, An Outstanding Decision and the title track of the EP, are in a fierce competition to become a modest hit on local and national radio shows.
Step Into… contains two remixes: one by Mystic Machine, and one by cosmopolitan-by-nature ArcTone. Dutch house phenomenon DJ Leo Moreno is working on his own funky version of Moodak’s 2003 sing-along song Supersound.
