Yoel Del Sol was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba in 1974. In 1993, he graduated from The National School of Music in Havana, Cuba and took lessons from some of the best percussion teachers in the world such as Changuito, Reynaldo Fernandez, Jose Eladio Amat, Roberto Vizcaino, Roberto Consepcion, Isel Rasua and Fernando Pina, just to name a few. Yoel Del Sol won First Place in Percuba, the biggest and most important percussion festival in Havana, Cuba in 1995.
Since then, Yoel Del Sol has taught Cuban Percussion at National School of Music in Havana, Cuba from 1993 until 1999. He has performed at the most important Jazz Festivals in Cuba as well as around the world with the group Havana-Sax (saxophone quartet & percussion) as well as with Chucho Valdez, Carlos Averhoff, Carlos del Puerto, Miguel Anga Diaz, Enrique Pla, Cezar Lopez and Frank Emilio, among others.
Yoel Del Sol moved to Miami in 1999, where he played with Celia Cruz, Cachao, The Miami Sound Machine, Amaury Gutierrez, Lena, Malena Burke, Oriente, Luis Bofill, Roselyn Sanchez, Alicia Machado, Jaime Camil, Luis Enrique, Roberto Poveda, Palo, Spam All Stars, LocoYo, his brother Raul Del Sol, Meme Solis, Rebeca Mauleon, Arturo Sandoval & many more.
Currently, Yoel Del Sol tours with world-renowned musician Yanni and plays Tycoon Percussion Master Handcrafted Pinstripe Series congas.
