Willy "Wahan" Cherbettchian is a drummer and percussionist with decades of experience, and a passion for jazz. He has performed with Jazz Connection and singer Jill Gaylord among others.
He started playing snare drum in a drum corps in Varna, his city of birth. In 1970, at age 21, Willy Cherbettchian was on tour in Germany and stays. He earned his money as a musicians for film productions and show bands.
Willy Cherbettchian is also inventor and owner of Wahan Drum Technology, which he founded in 1998. He has patented a snare-switch which allows for producing a much broader spectrum of drum tones during a musical piece. He invented a pedal device attached to the snare-switch end which, through knee or thigh contact, can be gradually pressed with more or less strength, in order to utilize all the drum sounds between the usual two fixed settings.
